Ragaining Eelam - Sarath Fonseka to Re-Merge North and East If he comes to power

How "Hero’s" and “Patriots” Become "Traitors"

Definition of the word "Traitor" : One who betrays one's country, a cause, or a trust, especially one who commits treason

1. Sarath Fonseka held negotiations with the TNA during the past few weeks and agreed with their demands in return for their support in his the presidential election campaign

2. On the 6th of January, Derena News reported the that " party (TNA) had discussed at length the re-merger of the North and East with General Fonseka and he had not shown any objection to the proposal."

3. Before this, Mahinda Rajapakse refused the same demands made by TNA which included the re-merger of North & East (and everything else which General Fonseka agreed)

Further, Mahinda also promised the people of Sri Lanka that he would never merge the North and the East under his administration.

And it has been his stance all along

4. To set the stage for this re-merger, to give assurance to the TNA during the negotiations of his genuine intentions and to condition the minds of the "ordinary sinhala" people for an easy sell, General Fonseka’s camp brought in another controversial character from retirement

Enter Sarath N Silva
5. On the 3rd January 2010, In an interview with Lakbima News, Former chief justice, Sarath N Silva, revealed that he was providing input on constitutional reform to the joint opposition led by General Fonseka.

6. Interestingly, In the interview with the weekend Lakbima News (3rd Jan 2010), Sarath Silva held out the prospect of once again merging the now de-merged North and East Provinces, on the basis that the conditions that gave rise to a full merger as per his judgment no longer obtained with the cessation of hostilities and disarmament

7. On the 5th of January 2010, Sarath N Silva joined General Sarath Fonseka in his campaign rally held in Ampara

Retrospect: How did NE became de-merged?
1. In 2006, President's Counsel Herman Lionel de Silva, Senior Counsel S L Gunasekera and Gomin Dayasiri represented a group of petitioners of a Fundamental Rights (FR) petition to the Supreme Court (SC) to de-merge the Northern and Eastern Provinces of Sri Lanka – the case was won by the petitioners on the 16th of October 2006. Not only was this a landmark decision in the history of Sri Lanka but also was the removal of a vital foundation for the creation of Eelaam that was laid by Tamil separatists with the connivance of the Indians.

2. Who were the petitioners? The JVP (Janatha Vumukthi Peramuna)

3. Who delivered the judgment to de-merge North & East? A Supreme Court Bench headed by the former CJ Sarath Nanda Silva himself!!

The five-judge bench comprising of Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva, Nihal Jayasinghe, N.K. Udalagama, Nimal Gamini Amaratunga and Rupa Fernando - the case was unanimously ruled and accordingly the de-merger took place effective from January 2007, the two provinces came to be separate units under the 13th Amendment in terms of the Indo-Lanka Accord.

4. Q: Who called the above NE de-merger a " breach of International Treaty" ? Q: Who said "Mr Rajapakse has betrayed the Tamil people" ?
Answer: R Sampanthan

5. Who is R Sampanthan ? He is the leader of TNA and he is the man who said "General Fonseka understands the need for an acceptable solution to the Tamil issue far better that President Mahinda Rajapaksa" on the 6th of January 2010 and joined Sarath Fonseka's traitorous campaign

5. And what are the “Tamil issues” that Sarath Fonseka understands “far better than President Mahinda Rajapakse” ?
  1. Re-Merger of North & East provinces
  2. Release 12,000 Tiger suspects held in detention under a common amnesty.
  3. Remove all high security zones in the northeast.
  4. Reduce the number of army camps in the north and east.
  5. Find a political solution to the ethnic crisis.
  6. Resettle the displaced quickly.
  7. Provide them with all necessary facilities.
  8. Construct houses they need.
  9. End all planned resettlement that is being done in the east.

6. And who are the main promoters of this “better understanding” Sarath Fonseka?
  • UNP
  • Mano Ganeshan
  • Mangala Samaraweera
  • JVP
  • Rauf Hakeem
  • All the NGOs and INGO's (who wanted Mahinda to stop the war – we all know what stance the above took during the war and what they fought for.)

And now now, seven months after the defeat, All these traitors have come together and they are planning a grand comeback - Unfortunately (and ironically), the patriots who defeated "them" are now leading “them” in their campaign to re-gain the defeated Eelam - It was not the defeated LTTE who brought these evil forces together using the Hero of Wanni operations as the front man, and It was definitely not the Tamil racists either, it is a force much bigger and more powerful.

Digest these facts, look at the big picture, understand the gravity of the situation and the looming danger - Do we want to go back to another insurgency that will reverse all our victories? Can you imagine what will happen if 12,000 tigers are released under a general amnesty? How vulnerable our security forces will be when all the high security zones in the northeast are removed? Do we want suicide bombers blowing themselves up in Colombo, again? You better decide now because you got only 19 days left and the danger is real
